Family Law – At a difficult and stressful time, the last thing you want is an expensive and drawn out process.
That is why our primary goal is to help you come to an agreement with your spouse about the finances – who gets what and when.
Financial disputes in divorce
Where the parties have assets of less than £300,000 in total in value, the fees are as follows:
- Where legal proceedings have not commenced, a fixed fee for advice between £350 and £850, depending on the nature and complexity of the case
- Once legal proceedings have commenced, an hourly rate of between £185 and £325, again depending on the nature and complexity of the case [up to but not including the first appointment in court]
- First court hearing £650
- Financial Dispute Resolution appointment £750
- Final hearings £950 per day
Where the parties have assets of more than £300,000 in total, the above fees are increased by 20% for total assets between £300,001 and £500,000. Where total assets of both parties exceed £500,000, please obtain a specific quotation.
A properly drafted separation agreement is invaluable in moving on without having to worry.
It will record what it is that you both want to happen with your assets, income and any liabilities.
If agreement cannot be reached, we can offer the services of an experienced barrister to prepare and argue your case – without having to go to a solicitor first, with all the additional expense that incurs. We can also offer payment of fixed fees by instalments.
